![]() ![]() ![]() Once you've seen every Madea movie you've seen them all, and I suppose it's what like. Perhaps if he had someone to work with, someone to bounce ideas off then maybe the films wouldn't be as, shall we say, lacking in real genuine laughs. The problem is that he's the main creative force in his films. The comedy is what Tyler Perry does best but he's also not particularly good at it either, at least as far as writing it. Again, that's not saying much since the movie still isn't any good. With that said, and I know this isn't saying much, but this is the best of the 3 Madea films I've seen. So it's surprising, to say the least, to see Tyler get rid of all the drama altogether and stick with what he does "best" and that's the comedy. Though the Jail one was considerably worse. Madea goes to Jail had some horrible drama, just fucking TERRIBLE stuff, as did Madea's Big Happy Family. He doesn't write good scripts and, it's a damn miracle quite frankly, that he didn't include a melodramatic story in this movie as well to go along with the comedy. The problem is everything that he gives his "characters" to perform. I don't think I can deny that, no matter how much I truly disliked his movies. At least as far as as Madea and Uncle Joe goes. I'm not going to deny that Tyler Perry is a talented performer. This is probably my least favorite of the Madea movies, and hopefully if they make more they get better. Even though too much of her(or him), gets to be annoying after a while. There's a lot of plot holes, and the movie only really works when Madea is on screen. Eugene Levy is ok, but he is just playing himself, and he's married to Denise Richards. While that's kind of a breathe of fresh air, the comedy falls flat a lot. This is a straight up over the top comedy, with zero drama like all of his other movies. This time Madea takes in a family from New York who are under an FBI investigation while they and receive death threats from the mob. "Madea's Witness Protection" is his latest in a long line of movies about Madea(Perry in drag). Even when they get too melodramatic, they are still pretty entertaining. I like pretty much all of Tyler Perry's movies. ![]()
